Leaning in for student success

While teaching advanced placement classes, Kaitlin and Elizabeth realized that students often started the year without the necessary foundations. With this in mind, we started Provectum Academics in the hopes that we would be able to create a space where students can gain the tools to be confident in their success. We have recruited similarly minded teachers who excel at teaching to students’ needs.

Our current teaching team has diverse academic expertise. We have experience teaching advanced placement classes in English Literature and English Language, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. As AP teachers, we know the AP Exams and curriculum better than anyone else. Our experience teaching AP courses makes us the most qualified to prepare you for and guide you through your AP coursework and exam prep.

Kaitlin has over a decade of teaching experience and has worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. She loves using pop culture and rich literature to help students level up their reading, writing, and analytical thinking skills. Her students learn that art like music, movies, and books reflect culture and values, and that understanding how authors use their words to move an audience is one way to equip yourself to navigate this strange and beautiful world of ours. She has a master's degree in education systems and pedagogy from Lesley University. When she's not teaching, she enjoys video games, knitting, and riding her motorcycle into the sunset.

Elizabeth has a passion for physics education. 5 years ago, Elizabeth made a career switch to education to try and make physics more accessible. Her previous work as a medical physicist in a setting that was both clinical and academic translates well to a classroom space. She has a master’s degree in medical physics from GA Tech and a master’s in education from Harvard University. Outside of school, she throws axes in a local league.

Rebecca fell in love with teaching while serving in the Peace Corps. After she finished her touch, she attended Harvard University for her master’s in education. When she isn’t focused on making science education fun, she likes to hike with Karma, her four legged buddy that she brought back with her from her time teaching in Mozambique.
